It's with great pleasure that the club can announce that our overseas player for the 2010 season will be Henk Holtzhausen.
Henk originates from South Africa, and will arrive in Essex in April for the 2010 season. Check back nearer the time for details of the welcome party evening.

Henk Holthausen (23) is a talented all-rounder who played in the South African Airways Provincial Challenge for Limpopo during the 2006/07 season before the Union were stripped of their first-class status.
A right-arm swing bowler and hard-hitting middle-order batsman, Holtzhausen played 3 first-class and 7 List-A fixtures with a great deal of success.
In 5 first-class innings, he scored 173 runs at 34.60, including two fifties and picked up 4 wickets at 39.75. In his 7 List-A fixtures, he hitting 270 runs at 38.57 with another two fifties and took 5 wickets at 30.
He has moved to Pretoria this season to further his career and is trying to break into the Titans Franchise side and return to first class cricket.
The other first class player in his side is Jaundre Jumat....Greg Smith is the coach,he played for the Titans and Nottinghamshire in the UK . Ex-1st class players playing with Henk are,Christiaan Kellerman and Albert Beukman.
Henk's stats for the season to date are: Bowling: 6 games/13 wick/43 overs/150 runs/econ 3.4/avge 11 Batting 6 games/5 inns/105 runs/3 not outs/average 52.5
He played a seasons league cricket in 2006 for Eppleton in the Durham Senior League. He hit 648 league runs at 38.12 and took 38 wickets at 16.71. He was particularly impressive in their Twenty20 competition as well smashing 603 runs at 43.07, including a highest score of 138, in addition to taking 12 wickets at 28.33 (best bowling of 4 for 9). |
